About Us
WPHLS is the first ever honor society at Johns Hopkins University that exclusively recognizes and celebrates the achievements of young women pursuing the pre-health sciences. Our society consists of female undergraduate students who have demonstrated academic excellence, commitment to community service, and a passion for pre-health studies.

Active WPHLS members all belong to a specific WPHLS Committee where they work together under their Committee Chairs to fulfill their respective Committee's responsibilities.
Committee Profiles
Community Engagement Committee
CE Committee is responsible for planning community service activities for WPHLS members for the year, selecting service opportunities specifically related to women, health disparities, science and/or health care for each semester. CE Committee reaches out to the necessary contacts in Hopkins and the Baltimore community. They will update members on service opportunities and keep track of member hours and attendance at community service events. CE Committee organizes BLAST, ACEing Autism, My Sister’s Place, KKI, Food as Medicine, Project Prevent Health, etc.
Programming Committee
Programming Committee is responsible for bringing external organizations and speakers to WPHLS. Programming Committee organizes events such as Conversations in Medicine (CiM), Professor Coffee Chats, WPHLS Alumni events, and other activities co-hosted with other Hopkins organizations. Programming Committee connects with medical professionals within the Hopkins community for WPHLS members to learn from their experiences and expertise.

Social Committee
Social Committee is responsible for planning and executing all social events, including recruiting events and monthly get-togethers, to discuss pre-medical topics and foster community within WPHLS. Some examples of previous social events are Family Game Night, Group Yoga, and Charades. Social Committee also organizes and curates new initiatives every year, such as the most recent WPHLS Resource Bank.

PR Committee
PR Committee is responsible for all promotion of WPHLS members and events. PR Committee actively communicates with all other committees in order to effectively broadcast all upcoming WPHLS programming and opportunities through various social media platforms. PR committee also consistently maintains and updates the WPHLS website.
